EHR interoperability

We make a patient's record follow them between hospitals, clinics and labs.

Hand placing a sticky note on a workshop wall of blank notes

Most hospitals run several clinical systems, each holding part of the patient record. We connect the EHR through an interface engine using HL7 and FHIR, match patient identity across systems and connect to the national health information exchanges.

In the UAE that means Malaffi in Abu Dhabi, Nabidh in Dubai and Riayati for MOHAP facilities, under the UAE health data law (Federal Law No. 2 of 2019); in Saudi Arabia, the national platforms run by the National Health Information Center, under the PDPL.

What we deliver

  • Interface engine

HL7 v2 and FHIR interfaces managed in one engine, with monitoring and replay.

  • Patient identity

Matching rules that link the same patient across systems without merging different people.

  • Health information exchanges

Connections to the national exchange that applies to each facility, with consent handled as each exchange requires.

What to have in place first

Clinical governance and privacy officers review every change, so it helps to settle these points first.

  • The systems that hold patient identity are listed.
  • Interface specifications from the exchange are available.
  • Clinical safety review of new interfaces is assigned.
