Control framework mapping

One set of controls that answers several frameworks, so each control is tested once.

We map the frameworks you must meet into one set of controls: for example NCA ECC and the SAMA Cyber Security Framework in Saudi Arabia, the UAE Information Assurance Regulation and DESC standards in the UAE, alongside ISO 27001, SOC 2 or the NIST CSF. Overlaps are rationalised, so one control and one piece of evidence can satisfy several requirements.

We keep the mapping current as frameworks change, for example new versions of NCA ECC or ISO/IEC 27001:2022, so gap lists do not go stale between audits.

What we deliver

  • Unified control set

A single library of controls, each linked to the framework requirements it satisfies.

  • Rationalisation

Duplicate and overlapping controls merged, so teams test and evidence each control once.

  • Gap remediation

Requirements with no control ranked by risk, with owners and dates for closing them.

  • Proportionate controls

Controls sized to the risk, so effort goes where exposure is highest.

  • Owned by the business

Each control and policy has a named owner outside the GRC team.

When frameworks need mapping

Mapping pays off when several frameworks apply and teams answer the same question for each one separately.

  • Different audits ask for the same evidence in different formats.
  • Control owners cannot say which requirements their controls meet.
  • A new framework or version applies and the gap is unknown.
