Platform implementation

Qlik Sense and Qlik Cloud

We implement Qlik Sense and Qlik Cloud on a reusable layer of QVD files and master items, so every app draws on the same loaded data while users explore it freely through the associative engine.

In Qlik the load script decides what every app can show, so the work centres on that data layer before any sheet is designed. Client-managed Qlik Sense runs on your own Windows servers, which suits organisations that must keep data inside the country, while Qlik Cloud hands platform administration to Qlik. Apps can also switch to a right-to-left reading order, which helps when Arabic is the main language of a sheet.

We build in layers: extract apps pull from source systems into QVD files, transform apps apply business rules, and front-end apps hold the master dimensions and measures that users see. Section Access in the load script limits rows per user, and on client-managed sites security rules in the QMC decide who reaches which stream.

How we implement Qlik Sense and Qlik Cloud

From blueprint to go-live and beyond: configuration, integration and support from one accountable team.

  • Blueprint and governance

The QVD layering, naming of master items, the Section Access model and the split between streams or spaces are written down and approved by the BI lead and the data owners before the first app is built.

  • Load script standards

Shared include files, variables and incremental load patterns, so scripts stay readable and reloads finish inside the agreed window.

  • Moving to Qlik Cloud

Client-managed apps, data connections and reload tasks moved into Qlik Cloud spaces, with Qlik Data Gateway where data has to stay on premises.

  • QlikView retirement

QlikView documents rebuilt as Qlik Sense apps, reusing their load scripts and QVDs wherever they still serve.

  • Hypercare and managed support

Qlik Cloud changes continuously and client-managed Qlik Sense has several releases a year, so we review each release, retest key apps, and track reload failures, engine memory and app size.

Where Qlik Sense earns its place

Qlik fits teams who want users to follow their own line of questioning across connected data, and organisations with an existing QlikView estate or a need to keep analytics on their own servers.

  • A QlikView or Qlik Sense estate to rationalise or move
  • A decision between client-managed servers and Qlik Cloud
  • Source systems reachable for scheduled reloads
  • Row access rules ready to become Section Access
