Platform implementation

Polkadot and Substrate

We build Substrate runtimes with the Polkadot SDK, run them as standalone chains or on Polkadot coretime, and manage forkless runtime upgrades under agreed governance.

The Polkadot SDK, which now includes Substrate, lets a team write a chain's own logic in FRAME pallets instead of deploying contracts on someone else's chain. Connecting to Polkadot means buying coretime with DOT, a virtual asset, so treasury and legal teams review that position against the rules of VARA in Dubai or ADGM's FSRA, and of SAMA and the CMA in Saudi Arabia.

We compose the runtime from existing FRAME pallets and our own, choose the consensus and collator set-up, and rehearse each upgrade on a local network with Zombienet before production. Cross-chain messages use XCM, limited to the specific chains and assets the runtime trusts.

How we implement Polkadot and Substrate

Implementation, customisation, deployment and ongoing support, with governance your steering committee can follow.

  • Blueprint and governance

The chain's sponsors and their security leads approve the runtime's pallets, who may enact an upgrade, the collator set and the XCM channels before development starts.

  • Runtime upgrade governance

A defined path for proposing, testing and enacting forkless upgrades, with a fallback plan if a migration fails.

  • Storage migration testing

Every storage migration tested against a copy of live chain state before the upgrade is enacted.

  • Coretime planning

A choice between bulk and on-demand coretime, renewed on time so the chain keeps producing blocks.

  • Hypercare and managed support

We track Polkadot SDK releases and relay chain changes, renew coretime ahead of each period, and monitor collators, finality and XCM delivery.

Do you need your own runtime?

Teams whose rules are too specific or performance-sensitive for smart contracts, and who want their own chain with the option to connect to Polkadot later, are the right audience.

  • Business logic that smart contracts would express poorly
  • Rust developers, or a budget to bring them in
  • A governance body able to approve runtime upgrades
  • A decision between a standalone chain and Polkadot coretime
