Platform implementation

Oracle CPQ

We implement Oracle CPQ for products with many options and rules, so sales produce quotes that engineering can build and finance can invoice.

Oracle CPQ, formerly BigMachines, is strongest with configurable products: equipment, industrial systems, and telecoms and technology bundles whose options depend on each other. Work centres on the configuration model, pricing and the commerce process from quote to order. Gulf sellers often quote in several currencies, customers may want quote documents in Arabic and English, and orders passed to the ERP have to carry the VAT treatment that ZATCA e-invoicing needs in Saudi Arabia.

Configuration rules, recommendations and constraints are written in BML, the BigMachines Extensible Language, and pricing uses the CPQ pricing engine and price books. The commerce process defines quote steps, approvals and integrations, and Document Designer produces the customer quote. Oracle CPQ connects to Oracle Sales and to Salesforce, and to the ERP for orders.

How we implement Oracle CPQ

Design, build, integration and run-state support, with each decision recorded for your steering committee.

  • Blueprint and governance

The configuration model, option dependencies, price books, discount rules and approval thresholds are agreed with product management, sales operations and finance before any rule is written.

  • Configuration model

Product families, models and option rules that stop invalid combinations at the moment of quoting.

  • Quote-to-order integration

Orders and configured line details sent to the ERP and manufacturing, with order status returned to CPQ.

  • Subscription management

Subscription and renewal quotes through Oracle Subscription Management, where recurring services are sold.

  • Hypercare and managed support

Oracle CPQ receives quarterly updates, so we retest configuration rules, pricing and integrations in the test site before each update reaches production. Between updates we maintain BML scripts, price books and new product options.

Signs your products need Oracle CPQ

Oracle CPQ fits manufacturers and technology sellers whose main difficulty is product complexity, with many options and dependencies, more than subscription billing.

  • Products with option dependencies that sales get wrong today
  • Product management willing to own configuration rules
  • An ERP or manufacturing system ready to receive configured orders
