Platform implementation

IBM webMethods.io

We implement IBM webMethods.io for organisations that integrate across their own data centres and the cloud, keeping B2B exchanges, APIs and long-running Integration Server estates under one set of standards.

Neatly dressed bundles of fibre optic patch cables in a rack

Many webMethods customers have run Integration Server on premises for years, so the work often starts with the existing estate: which packages and services stay on premises, which move to webMethods.io, and which are retired. IBM acquired webMethods from Software AG in 2024, and roadmaps and licensing are moving to IBM's terms, which is worth checking before a renewal. Keeping runtimes in your own data centres remains the simplest answer where data must stay in the UAE or Saudi Arabia.

Hybrid delivery runs on Integration Server and Designer for Flow services, the webMethods API Gateway and API Portal for policies and onboarding, Trading Networks for partner documents, and webMethods.io Integration workflows for cloud-to-cloud cases. Packages are kept in Git and built and deployed through CI pipelines rather than by hand, with Universal Messaging where flows need guaranteed delivery.

How we implement IBM webMethods.io

Design, build, integration and run-state support, with each decision recorded for your steering committee.

  • Blueprint and governance

The hybrid split, package structure, API policies and partner onboarding rules are agreed with your integration architect and infrastructure owners before any migration or new build begins.

  • Integration Server estate review

An inventory of packages, services, adapters and schedules, with each marked to keep, modernise, move to the cloud or retire.

  • Trading Networks for B2B

Partner profiles, document types and processing rules in Trading Networks, with every document traceable from receipt to delivery.

  • API Gateway policies

Threat protection, throttling and authentication policies on webMethods API Gateway, and partner onboarding through the API Portal.

  • Hypercare and managed support

We apply webMethods fixes through the update tooling on a planned cycle, track product end-of-support dates under IBM's lifecycle policy, and monitor service errors, queue build-up and document status in Trading Networks.

When a hybrid estate points to webMethods

webMethods suits organisations with a large on-premises integration estate, heavy B2B traffic or strict hosting rules, which need cloud integration without abandoning what already works.

  • An up-to-date list of Integration Server packages and their owners
  • Clear rules on which data may leave your data centres
  • Partners and document standards documented for Trading Networks
  • A licence position confirmed under IBM's current terms
