Platform implementation

SAP Master Data Governance

We implement SAP Master Data Governance inside S/4HANA so business partners, materials and finance objects are created through approved change requests and replicated cleanly to SAP and non-SAP systems.

SAP MDG work centres on change requests: who may request a new supplier, customer or material, which checks run, and who approves. Because MDG runs inside S/4HANA, residency follows your SAP landscape, whether on premises or under RISE with SAP in a hyperscaler region. Saudi e-invoicing under ZATCA and VAT reporting in both countries depend on correct tax numbers and addresses in business partner records, so those fields carry validation rules from day one.

Workflows use rule-based workflow with BRF+ decision tables that route each change request by type and value; validations and derivations run in BRF+ or BAdIs; and the Data Replication Framework sends approved records to ECC, other S/4HANA systems or outside applications. Requesters and stewards work in SAP Fiori apps, while consolidation and mass processing handle bulk loads and clean-up.

How we implement SAP Master Data Governance

Design, build, integration and run-state support, with each decision recorded for your steering committee.

  • Blueprint and governance

Change request types, approval steps, field ownership for each domain and the replication model are agreed with the finance, procurement and supply chain data owners before configuration in S/4HANA.

  • Business partner governance

Customer and supplier creation through MDG, covering bank details, tax numbers and duplicate checks before approval.

  • Material master governance

Material creation across plants and sales organisations, with each team completing its own views in the right order.

  • Financial master data

Governed creation of G/L accounts, cost centres and profit centres, with hierarchies kept aligned across company codes.

  • Hypercare and managed support

MDG moves with S/4HANA releases, feature packs and support packages, so we regression-test workflows and BRF+ rules with each upgrade, and watch change request cycle times, replication errors and rejected requests.

When SAP MDG is the natural fit

SAP MDG fits organisations whose master data lives mainly in SAP, especially those moving to S/4HANA, that want governance inside the same system as finance and supply chain.

  • S/4HANA in place or a migration under way
  • A business partner approach agreed for customers and suppliers
  • Field owners named for each master data domain
  • An approval matrix signed off by finance and procurement
