Platform implementation

Kinaxis RapidResponse

We implement Kinaxis RapidResponse for concurrent planning, so planners can test a supply or demand change in a scenario and see its effect across the whole network before they commit.

The centre of this work is concurrent planning: demand, supply, inventory and capacity planned in one model, with sales and operations planning built on top. For manufacturers with plants in both Saudi Arabia and the UAE, working calendars and public holidays differ between sites, so each plant's and supplier's calendar is set in the model and available capacity reflects what can really be produced.

RapidResponse holds the whole supply chain model in memory, and planners work through workbooks, worksheets and alerts we configure for each role. Scenarios branch from the baseline, so a planner can model a supplier delay, compare it with the current plan and share it for approval without touching live data. Data arrives from ERP through Kinaxis's integration tooling on a set schedule.

How we implement Kinaxis RapidResponse

From blueprint to go-live and beyond: configuration, integration and support from one accountable team.

  • Blueprint and governance

Before workbooks are built, the head of planning and the S&OP owner settle the planning data model, the resources and constraints that matter, and who may commit a scenario.

  • Supply and capacity constraints

Bills of material, lead times and capacity limits modelled so the plan reflects what plants and suppliers can actually deliver.

  • Monthly S&OP on one model

Demand review, supply review and an executive meeting each month, all run from the same scenarios.

  • Alerts and exception handling

Alerts for late orders, stock-outs and capacity overloads, routed to the planner who owns each item or site.

  • Hypercare and managed support

Kinaxis runs the service and ships regular updates, so after go-live our attention goes to data load health, clearing out stale scenarios and adjusting workbooks as planners ask.

When concurrent planning is worth it

Kinaxis earns its place where the main pain is speed of response, and planners need to answer 'what if' questions during the week rather than at the next monthly cycle.

  • Frequent supply disruptions or demand swings that the monthly plan cannot absorb
  • ERP data on items, bills of material and lead times reliable enough to plan from
  • A planning team willing to replace spreadsheets with shared scenarios
  • Executive sponsorship for a monthly S&OP meeting
