Platform implementation

Coupa Treasury

We implement Coupa Treasury to give the treasurer a daily view of cash across every bank, with bank fees analysed and payments controlled in the same place.

Dubai towers at dusk seen across a calm creek

Coupa Treasury grew out of Bellin's tm5 platform, which Coupa acquired in 2020, and its strengths are cash visibility, bank account management, payments and bank fee analysis. For Gulf groups with accounts at many regional and international banks, the first win is usually a reliable daily cash position across all of them. Where the group already runs Coupa for procurement and invoices, supplier payments can be linked to treasury so both teams see the same commitments.

We connect banks for statements and payments through the platform's bank connectivity options, set up the register of accounts and signatories, and build payment approval workflows with segregation of duties. The ERP is integrated for payables and accounting entries, so treasury and accounting work from the same transactions.

How we implement Coupa Treasury

Implementation, customisation, deployment and ongoing support, with governance your steering committee can follow.

  • Blueprint and governance

The bank and account list, payment types, approval matrix and cash position categories are agreed with the treasurer and finance controls before the first bank is connected.

  • Daily cash position

Statement imports from every bank, categorised automatically, giving one cash position by entity and currency each morning.

  • Bank fee analysis

Bank charges, where banks provide fee statements, compared with agreed tariffs, and differences raised with each bank.

  • Short-term forecasting

Short-term forecasts built from the ERP, procurement commitments and business unit input, measured against actuals.

  • Hypercare and managed support

Coupa delivers Treasury as SaaS and updates it on its own schedule, so we check each release for changes to bank formats and workflows. After go-live we monitor statement imports and payment files, onboard new accounts and support the bank fee review each quarter.

When Coupa Treasury makes sense

Coupa Treasury fits mid-sized and large treasuries whose priority is cash visibility, payments and bank relationships rather than complex dealing, and groups already using Coupa for spend.

  • Accounts spread across many banks with no single cash view
  • Coupa already in use for procurement or invoices
  • Bank fee costs the treasurer wants under control
